Drug Addiction, Social justice and Human rights

The Anti-Drug Committee of St. Alphonsa College along with the Police Department of Kanyakumari District organized an awareness programme on Drug Addiction, Social justice and Human rights on 10th October 2025 at the Multimedia Hall. All first-year undergraduate students participated in the programme. The programme commenced at 11.30 a.m. with a welcome address by Joshiba of III B.A. English. Dr. Angelo Joseph, Principal, inaugurated the program with his special address.




M. Sivasankaran (Deputy Superintendent of Police) and his team advanced the program. The session was both informative and inspiring, helping the students understand the dangers of substance abuse and ways to support those struggling with addiction. Gifts were distributed to students who actively participated during the interactive session. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Jafflin febi of I BA English. The entire programme was smoothly anchored by Jeni Liya and Sushma of II B.A. English.
The Anti-Drug Committee sincerely thanks the College Management for providing this valuable opportunity to create awareness and strengthen young minds against the menace of drug addiction.
